Japan: Equis Energy build 41MW and 13.7MW solar projects in Yaita and Noheji

PRESS RELEASE: 11 July 2017

Pegasus Legal wishes to congratulate Equis Energy and its subsidiary Nippon Renewable Energy (NRE) on their recent announcement of two new large-scale solar projects in Yaita City and Noheji, at 41MW and 13.7MW, respectively. Bouygues Energies & Services and Toho Electrical are teaming up for both projects as contractors to NRE to construct the solar parks, which are scheduled to commence operation in April 2018 and November 2017, respectively. Together, the solar parks will provide clean energy to over 12,800 households.

Adam Ballin, Equis board director and NRE Representative Director, said, “NRE is proud to partner with local stakeholders in Yaita City to create over 200 jobs, support the community and supply low-cost, clean solar energy. As a renewable energy leader in Japan, decreasing the country’s reliance on fossil fuels and nuclear power, while at the same time increasing its energy independence, is of utmost importance to us.”

NRE is advised by Pegasus Legal throughout both projects.
