PRESS RELEASE: 24 March 2017
The sophisticated platform is capable of self-learning and continually optimises decision-making based on real-time energy, weather and market data. It will improve environmental, economic and network outcomes and will be deployed into (hybrid) renewable power plants and embedded networks as well as into the commercial building sector.
The Brisbane Equinox Solar Networking Event hosted by Pegasus Legal provided the backdrop for the announcement and also showcased a key catalyst of the project, the Clenergy TeamArrow Arrow1-GT solar car. The ArrowPoint Energy Management Platform is a spin-off of the IT platform that supports the Arrow1-GT solar car.
It is not the first time that Integral and Pegasus have collaborated: Integral is the founding supporter of Clenergy TeamArrow and Pegasus has been a long-term sponsor.
Cameron Tuesley, director of Integral Technology Solutions, said that the timing was right for sustainable energy management to come of age.
“Integral has developed ArrowPoint over four years, initially for the 2013 Arrow1 solar car. Since then, we have evolved ArrowPoint into a software platform for the management and real-time optimisation of renewable energy (including solar energy and battery storage) and major loads. We are extremely excited to be able to take ArrowPoint to the next level and develop commercial opportunities with Pegasus,” Mr Tuesley said.
Gerald Arends, director Pegasus Legal, reflected more broadly on the energy sector, saying that the development of the ArrowPoint Energy Management Platform brings together two themes: opportunities for the deployment of mid-sized renewables in the built environment and the optimisation of existing and new electricity generation and network infrastructure.
“Today we have the opportunity to bring an intelligent platform and a whole raft of sustainable technology breakthroughs into the mainstream,” Mr Arends said.
